The objective of this paper is to study factors affecting emotional intelligence among bank employees. The results of this research will be helpful for making people more emotionally intelligent. The major factors that influence emotional intelligence are required to be sought in order to help people in recognizing their own emotions, control their impulsive feelings and adapt to changing circumstances. Data has been collected through primary sources by framing a questionnaire answered by 100 respondents (bank employees in HDFC, Axis, ICICI and Canara Bank) in Amritsar City. Factor Analysis has been used to analyse the data. The analysis revealed five underlying dimensions i.e. Self Awareness, Emotional resilience, Inter- Personal Sensitivity, Influence and Intuitiveness.
